EBRAINS Summit 2025 Programme Announced: Discover the Sessions and Meet the Keynote Speakers
The EBRAINS Summit 2025 will offer a dynamic programme exploring brain research, neurotechnology, and innovation.

The Summit kicks off with an internal day dedicated to EBRAINS collaborators and PhD networking, followed by a Public Day that will spotlight groundbreaking research, policy dialogues, and a science slam. The following days will showcase user-driven research powered by EBRAINS, emerging technologies like Neuro AI, and close with a joint day with the INCF focused on FAIR Neuroscience and education. The EBRAINS Summit 2025 will take place in Brussels from 8-11 December, under the theme “Transforming Brain Science and Medicine”.
Two internationally renowned scientists have been announced as keynote speakers at this year’s Summit: Rafael Yuste and Onur Güntürkün, who will deliver keynote lectures on the topics of neurotechnology and cognitive neuroscience.
On December 9, Prof. Rafael Yuste, Professor of Neuroscience at Columbia University (USA), will present a keynote titled “Neurotechnology: An upcoming revolution in science, medicine and society.” A pioneer in brain imaging techniques and a driving force behind both the US BRAIN Initiative and Spain Neurotech, Prof. Yuste will explore how emerging neurotechnologies are transforming brain research, clinical care, and human-technology interaction.
On December 10, Prof. Onur Güntürkün, professor of biopsychology at Ruhr University Bochum, will deliver the second keynote. A cognitive and comparative neuroscientist, Prof. Güntürkün investigates how complex cognition arises in the brain, asking questions like: “Can different brains produce the same cognition?” and “Why are brains asymmetrically organised?”. He is a member of several prestigious academies, including the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, and a recipient of major scientific, including the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, the TÜBITAK special award (the Turkish science award) and an ERC Advanced Grant.
Registration to the Summit is now open, with a reduced early bird fee available for a limited time. Keep an eye on the Summit website for programme updates and visit the registration page to secure your spot!
