The EBRAINS Summit Programme Committee and the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility invited researchers interested in open neuroscience to submit high-quality abstracts to the EBRAINS Summit 2025.

The evaluation of the submitted abstracts was strictly based on scientific content and infrastructure relevance. Among the abstracts that were submitted, the Evaluation Committee identified the best abstracts in the following categories:

Best Abstract Award for Neuroscientific and Medical Research

· "Layer-specific cell counts in BigBrain – decomposing cortex-wide numbers based on cytoarchitectonics" by Sebastian Bludau, Timo Dickscheid, Anna Steffens, Christian Schiffer, Eric Upschulte and Katrin Amunts

Best Abstract Award for Methodological developments, technology, and AI applications in neuroscience

· "bids2ebrains: Automating BIDS Dataset Registration into the EBRAINS Knowledge Graph" by Renqing Cuomao, Raphaël Gazzotti, Sophia Pieschnik, Oliver Schmid, Peyman Najafi, Andrew Davison, Cyril Pernet and Lyuba Zehl

· "The Virtual Aging Brain: A Scalable Framework of Dopaminergic Modulation" by Amirhossein Esmaeili, Giacomo Preti, Spase Petkoski, Marmaduke Woodman, Meysam Hashemi, Daniele Marinazzo and Viktor Jirsa
