Dr. Greve is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital Martinos Center. He has been developing neuroimaging analysis software for the last 27 years. He is one of the primary developers of FreeSurfer, a widely used comprehensive suite of software tools for analysis of structural MRI, fMRI, MRSI, DTI, and PET images of the brain.

User talk: A surface-based probabilistic atlas of human cortical cytoarchitecture

This talk describes a project to analyze the individual subjects in the Julich-Brain atlas using cortical surface-based techniques. The current atlas has 137 cytoarchitecturally defined cortical regions per hemisphere. We will describe the process of mapping these on to a cortical surface mesh model, creating a surface-based atlas, and applying the atlas to in vivo subjects. We compare the surface-based atlas to a volume-based atlas and show that surface-based gives more accurate results.
