User talk: Extending Virtual Brain Twins to TMS: Digital Neuromodulation for Clinical Neurophysiology
This talk introduces an exploratory workflow for adapting the validated Virtual Brain Twin (VBT) methodology—originally developed for epilepsy—to model non-invasive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Using EBRAINS tools such as The Virtual Brain and the Julich-Brain Atlas, Dr. Reyes Marin outlines how cortical-level stimulation can be conceptually simulated and visualized prior to empirical trials. The approach demonstrates a pathway toward predictive, ethically responsible modeling of neuromodulation paradigms that can support clinical education and brain e-health optimization.
Who You’ll Be Hearing From

Dr. Karen Elizabeth Reyes Marin, MD, PhD is a clinical neurophysiologist and founder of NeuroEdge Nexus, an independent initiative dedicated to bridging clinical neurophysiology, digital neuroscience, and brain e-health optimization. Her work focuses on translational strategies that connect intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, non-invasive neuromodulation, and computational modeling. Dr. Reyes Marin’s current project explores the adaptation of Virtual Brain Twin methodologies within EBRAINS to develop safe, reproducible frameworks for digital stimulation analysis and clinical education.
